From what I have read, Dan and Betty were well suited to one another, and the ruthlessness with which this whole thing played out was not at all surprising.

Linda Kolkena would probalby still be alive if she had not waltzed into the middle of someone else's difficult marriage and instead pursued an education and someone more age appropriate.

Betty never hid her anger, and Dan never did act like a decent human being. It's a sad story, but not the least bit surprising.
