I think there is a strong possibility that Robert Craig Cox is responsible for their disappearance, and it is troubling that he could be out as soon as 2025. It also points to the need for police to take these disappearances seriously when they are first reported, because there is no way to go back and reclaim what is lost to time.

Also, the alibi the girlfriend provided should have been more thoroughly investigated. Based on the number of true crime shows I have watched an “I was at church” alibi is more likely to be false than true. I wish she had been prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law because while she may or may not have been complicit in the crime, she is complicit in the coverup.
